This be a picture of the Fire Fruit from our Marduk story. Although we had not seen it while writing the story,
when I stumbled across this obsure fruit (a red tamarillo) in the produce section the other day I recognized it immediately.
Scarily enough, the red tamarillo drips red juice and does actually taste "fiery!"
